Today my wife bought us the following book, Texas DTPA Forms and Practice Guide , off of Amazon.com that I referenced at the Fort Worth Law Library over my Christmas vacation. This book has all the laws and examples on how to file a petition in civil court against an entity or person. This is the same lawbooks that lawyers use to file petitions as well. With some reading and enough research you can figure this out on your own without a lawyer. You can always pay a lawyer to review your petition before submitting it in the event you have concerns. We may do this just to be safe as it will still be cheaper if we do this than pay a lawyer to. The book is $100 and is well worth it for our case to be able to use as a reference.
